Meet up-and-coming superstar Sarah and the beautiful horses she competes with.
"A childhood hobby which has turned in to a adulthood passion"
Soli is a 15year old 16.1hh Irish Draught x Thoroughbred mare. I have been extremely lucky to have owned this lovely mare ever since she was 18months. She currently competes at BE90 in and around Cornwall and Devon, she has previously won Puissance competitions reaching a dizzy height of 4'9"! Soli and I were selected from many riders to go and compete at Blenheim palace in the 2016 Riding Club Eventers Challenge and WOW, what an amazing opportunity and venue this was to ride at! Soli can be rather grumpy and pull many faces but she is a solid eventer and turns her hoofs to anything I throw at her! She is definitely my horse of a life time and wouldn't change her for the world!
Harry is an 8year old 17hh Irish Draught x Thoroughbred gelding, who is also Soli's half brother! I have only owned Harry since he was 5 so our partnership is still fairly new but growing in strength every day! Due to Harry's size he has taken a bit longer to realise that all 4 legs belong to him but after 3 long years of hard work and determination the results are starting to show! Harry is currently competing at BE90 and 1m showjumping where he has obtained multiple wins! He has recently won his first ever Novice dressage test on a score of 73%! My aims for him next year are to ride at affiliated BE90 where my ultimate aim is to qualify to ride at Badminton Grassroots. I believe Harry has huge potential to work up the levels!
My name is Sarah, 26 and I am from a little village in Cornwall where I have lived all my life. I work as a veterinary receptionist at Churchend Vets which are part of the Kernow Veterinary Group. I absolutely love this job as I am a big animal lover and hope to eventually go on to veterinary nursing!
I am a very hard-working, determined individual, who loves a good challenge! I have not come from a family with money; all my successes have come from blood, sweat, tears and very long working hours earning the money to fund my passion!
I was very fortunate to grow up with such supportive parents who very soon realised that this little hobby of horse riding was soon to become my life and passion! They would drive me to every show, be my personal photographers and just generally being the most amazing supportive parents ever! Unfortunately in 2015 my mum passed away suddenly and my world came crashing down! I felt like throwing everything away and never showing my face again... But I knew deep down mum wouldn't of wanted this so I pulled myself together and carried on pushing myself competing with Harry and Soli, achieving things I never thought I would! We will always aim to make mum proud!
To me my horses aren't 'just a horse' to me they are my best friends!
